  • Are these Motorsport Australia approved / legal in racing?

    Yes these are manufactured to Motorsport Australia Specifications. Schedule H 1:1.  HAND-HELD FIRE EXTINGUISHERS: (i) Each hand-held fire extinguisher shall be secured using a metal bracket attached to the automobile with only high tensile bolts or equivalent fasteners and must remain restrained under a deceleration or acceleration of 25G ; and (ii) must be capable of removal by the driver (or crew, where applicable) without the aid of tools. Our brackets are made out Steel and they are supplied with M5 High Tensile Nuts and Bolts and are designed to be attached to the vehicle via the factory High Tensile Factory bolts. 

  • Are these hard to install?

    No these are very easy to install. They can be installed with simple hand tools in only minutes. We provide detailed video instructions for most of our brackets too.

  • Do these cause any damage to the vehicle?

    No not at all. These are all designed to be easily installed and easily removed if the vehicle is sold later on.

  • My model isn't listed, can you make one?

    Often, yes. We're always adding new models. Our workshop is based in Somerville, VIC, about 50km from Melbourne's CBD, where we measure the vehicle in person and develop a bracket to suit. Unfortunately we're not able to design new brackets from photos alone, so we do need access to the vehicle to measure it properly.

    If you're not based in Victoria, a good option is to see if you know someone with the same model who's nearby and could bring their car in for us to measure. Some customers have organised this through car clubs or owner groups.

NOTE: If you have a GLX or manual seat model please use an extinguisher other than the combo. Max length of the extinguisher should be 320mm so you have full seat movement still.

    Setup info for manual seat models - can be done no probs!

    Got the bracket no problerms at all, and it fits very easily. Biggest concern was the extinguisher size as I have manual seat adjustment, and standard size ones get in the way of the adjustment handle.
    Had a look around and found the MEGAFIRE brand 1kg extinguisher (sold at Supercheap, amongst other resellers, so its easy to find) which wasnt too expensive and fitted perfectly as it's quite a bit shorter. Whole setup not in the way of feet despite looking a bit clunky when fitted.

    I used a review on the KAP site to ensure I bought the correct bracket and extinguisher. Unfortunately as good as the review was it didn’t point out that only one type of extinguisher and bracket will work. Of course I bought the wrong extinguisher. Installation was tricky but with the help of a KAP rep I finally managed to get it fitted.

    A really super easy install and looks the part. Blends in with the interior so well. Make it very easy to get to the extinguisher if need be and doesn’t get in the way of your legs at all. Great product made impressively well.

    Pajero sport bracket

    This is a good bracket in a good tucked away place. You do loose full forward movement in the seat but that is not a problem.
    I did notice on another review that with my particular car and it’s seat adjuster location that I had to go a shorter stubbier extinguisher to make it work this the 4stars for me.
    Other wise I’m happy with it but hope I never have to use it.

    Shouldn't have got the combo

    5 stars for the bracket, but the fire extinguisher in the combo prevents my seat locking into position. I don't expect this to be a problem for electric seats, but don't recommend the combo if you have manual adjust seats
