  • Are these Motorsport Australia approved / legal in racing?

    Yes these are manufactured to Motorsport Australia Specifications. Schedule H 1:1.  HAND-HELD FIRE EXTINGUISHERS: (i) Each hand-held fire extinguisher shall be secured using a metal bracket attached to the automobile with only high tensile bolts or equivalent fasteners and must remain restrained under a deceleration or acceleration of 25G ; and (ii) must be capable of removal by the driver (or crew, where applicable) without the aid of tools. Our brackets are made out Steel and they are supplied with M5 High Tensile Nuts and Bolts and are designed to be attached to the vehicle via the factory High Tensile Factory bolts. 

  • Are these hard to install?

    No these are very easy to install. They can be installed with simple hand tools in only minutes. We provide detailed video instructions for most of our brackets too.

  • Do these cause any damage to the vehicle?

    No not at all. These are all designed to be easily installed and easily removed if the vehicle is sold later on.

  • My model isn't listed, can you make one?

    Often, yes. We're always adding new models. Our workshop is based in Somerville, VIC, about 50km from Melbourne's CBD, where we measure the vehicle in person and develop a bracket to suit. Unfortunately we're not able to design new brackets from photos alone, so we do need access to the vehicle to measure it properly.

    If you're not based in Victoria, a good option is to see if you know someone with the same model who's nearby and could bring their car in for us to measure. Some customers have organised this through car clubs or owner groups.

    This is high quality and looks great. Easy to fit. However, a heads up that the extinguisher comes separately from a third party would be nice.

    Excellent & simple

    I purchased 2 brackets for both my NX & my daughters NS Pajero's. It took me all of 10 minutes to install, all I required was a flat blade screw driver, & a 14mm socket, extension, ratchet, 2 x 8mm spanners.
    Slide the seat back, remove the plastic caps covering the front mounting bolts, remove bolts sit bracket in place, replace bolts and retention. You can easily fit a 1kg extinguisher, but I fitted a 1.5kg, which had plenty of room. Make sure you face the latch facing upwards for ease of removal, attaching your bracket to the KAP bracket with the 8mm nut and bolt provided in the kit.
    And there you have it, simple, and perfectly made, and SO much better than having it attached to your cargo barrier, and trying to dig it out from all your crap in the back!
    I couldn't recommend this product higher, thanks KAP!

    Great fit to the passenger side seat. I found a more secure fit by using stainless steel washers under the supplied bolts. Overall, it gives me a good feeling seeing the fire extinguisher there mounted solidly inside the cabin for immediate use if the need should occur.

    Excellent product

    I've had the bracket and extinguisher fitted in my NX Pajero (see video on this page) for several years and we've done thousands of klms in the outback and many trips to the Vic high country where the car gets bounced over rocky tracks, steep inclines and decents. The extinguisher stays solidly locked but easily accessible in front of the passenger seat. It's like an insurance policy which you hope you'd never use but knowing it's there gives peace of mind.
